An earthquake measuring 5.1 on the Richter scale shook Cilacap district in Central Java at 3:07am Tuesday, according to the Indonesian Meteorology and Geophysics (BMG) Agency.
BMG spokesman Subayo said Tuesday the epicenter of the earthquake was 41 km under the seabed and 242 km southwest of Cilacap.
However, he added that there was no report of a tsunami because it could be only caused by an earthquake with an intensity of up to 6.3 on the Richter scale.
"We are still waiting for further information from Cilacap about the impact of the quake," he said as quoted by Antara news agency.
